Open year-round, we offer a constantly changing inventory that fits Chicago’s urban spaces, from small balconies to large yards or rooftop gardens. Whether your style is traditional or contemporary, we have a variety of sizes and designs to suit your needs.
We offer delivery and installation services for large or heavy items.

Installation and Care
Set up and installation
Each fountain comes with its own assembly instructions and all necessary fittings and tubing. If anything is missing, give us a call, and we’ll resolve it promptly.
- Ensure fountains are installed on a flat, level surface for proper water flow.
- On hard surfaces like cement or tile, add a ½”–1″ layer of sand beneath the basin to prevent stress cracks and aid in leveling.
- For bird baths and pedestal fountains placed on dirt, use a paving stone or similar support to prevent soil erosion from water runoff.
Water level and pump maintenance
- Keep your fountain filled with water to prevent pump burnout. If refilling becomes a hassle, consider adding a drip system.
- Always plug the pump into a GFI outlet for safety.
- Debris like leaves can clog the pump. If water flow is restricted, unplug the pump, clean the filter, and check for debris. Regularly remove and clean the impeller to prevent lime scale buildup.
Maintaining optimal water conditions

We suggest Jungle products “No More Foam” liquid. A small amount in the fountain water will do the trick.
Algae
Green or brown algae may gradually cover the wet surfaces of your fountain. Some people love the aged look it gives their fountains, others don’t care for it. To prevent algae buildup, use products like Jungle’s “No More Algae” or “Fountec.” Avoid chlorine bleach, which can stain the fountain and harm plants and animals.
String Algae
String algae are the stringy, mossy gunk that drapes from the surface of the fountain. To control this we suggest Jungle’s “No More Algae” or “Fountec.” If you like the aged look but want to reduce string algae, try “Barley Extract.” For heavy algae buildup, let the fountain dry out before brushing and refilling.
White Scale
This residue is an accumulation of minerals from your water. It can be controlled by flushing the fountain occasionally or using Jungle’s “No More White Scale.” For areas with hard water or well water, using distilled water is an option for smaller fountains.
Winter care
Chicago winters can be tough on concrete fountains, which expand and contract with temperature changes. Protect your fountain with these tips:
- Fully drain and dry the fountain before freezing temperatures set in.
- Prevent water from freezing in bowls, shells, or birdbaths, as it can cause cracking.
- Elevate statuary and pedestals to avoid sitting in ice. If possible, store concrete products indoors.
Overwintering your fountain
- Remove the statue and pump, and store them indoors.
- Fill bowls or shells with absorbent material (like burlap) and cover the fountain with a protective cover.
- For birdbaths or statuary, elevate them on wood or bricks, and cover them with burlap or a fountain cover.
